THE ATELIER

The atelier is the center of arts integration at Hilltown, and the activities are too wide and varied to mention in one page. Here's a one week summary of some of the classes activities that took place at the end of January 2007:

Blues/Indigoes began their Eric Carle style animal picture. They have picked a
background for their page and will soon be working on composing the picture for on top of the background.

Yellows/Greens will begin making baskets with wooden bases and sides made of reeds.

Oranges/Reds worked on marble runs. They devoted one entire class to working on anti-gravity mechanisms. They came up with a lot of solutions like using pulleys, trampolines, catapults, and ramps.

Purples went on their field trip to Thom Haxo's studio. It was a great experience and we learned a lot about sculpting heads. They will get back to working on their full size heads.
